It is natural for you to be in tune with the spiritual realm. You find purpose and meaning in life and can connect to the sacred world around you, naturally honoring the part of you that is eternal. The way you are in tune with the sacred mystery of life inspires those around you. And sometimes you don't have to say much; it's simply the way you live that others find inspiring.  You are constantly pointing others back to the Sacred just by being you.

You Are a Multi-Dimensional Human Being!

You might lead with your SPIRITUAL self, however, there are a total of 5 components that make up all of you: Physical, Emotional, Mental, Spiritual and Relational. We call this the WHOLE self

You were taught in high demand religion that the only part of you worth anything was your spiritual (eternal) self. Everything else was temporary, deceptive, and sinful. And even your spiritual self needed to be guarded at all times lest you be deceived by the enemy. This damaging programming trained you to mistrust yourself and disconnect from all these amazing parts of yourself that have SO much wisdom to offer you!

We believe the path to wholeness is to connect with the resources that every part has for you. That means, when you know what your dominant Self Love Type is, you use the strengths of your type to usher in all of the other parts that don't feel as easy. 

So, yes, you are GREAT at connecting to your Spiritual Self, but now you can find ways to nurture the Physical, Mental, Relational, and Emotional parts of you as well, letting your intuition lead the way.

Spiritual Types, You'll Want to Watch Out For...

When you lead spiritually, you might have a tendency to escape the painful realities of human life by focusing on the ‘eternal’. This is probably because you were taught in religion that your humanity was broken and needed to be overcome. This created a divide is created within where your body is ignored, emotions are overlooked, and the mind is seen as something to control. Spiritual types can tend toward “good vibes only,” because it probably feels easier to deal with that which cannot be seen vs. the human experience. 

Practice neutrality by understanding that your emotions and thoughts aren’t good or bad...they are neutral messengers. The next time you want to get away from something that feels bad, ask yourself what it is trying to tell you instead. 

Self Care Tips for Spiritual Types:

Get Grounded

It is crucial to connect your body and spirit through grounding exercises, especially when you spend a lot of time focusing on the spiritual. Taking a bath, moving your body, or even doing a walking meditation will help you get back into your body and connect to your humanity. After all, your body is your home in this life.

Honor the Mundane

As a means to bring all parts of you into life, not just the spiritual, try pairing practices like meditation or prayer with everyday activities, such as brushing your teeth, working, driving, or cooking. This will bring the sacred awareness of the present moment into the mundane and connect your body, mind and soul.

Sacred Space

A great way to cultivate a relationship with your physical body and the Sacred is to create a space in your home to retreat to and get grounded. Fill a box with items to use during your alone time (a candle, journal, books--any objects that help you connect). Even a closet could become a safe haven for you to explore all parts of you.

Body Scans

Finding meaning in symbols comes natural to you.  Begin to cultivate awareness of the signs your body is giving you by doing daily body scans head to toe. Notice any symptoms.  Ask yourself, “What is my body telling me? Are there emotions I need to feel? Thoughts I need to acknowledge?” This practice connects your mind, body, spirit.
