🎉You lead with your EMOTIONAL self🎉

It is natural for you to be in tune with your emotions. You honor your emotions by giving yourself permission to experience them, not apologizing for them or fearing them. Look at you!  As an emotional type, you enjoy soaking up your inner world, which is exactly why you are drawn to self care rituals that allow their full expression (think immersing yourself in poetry, song, art, or anything that puts words and images to your feelings). Whenever you feel bothered by something, you instinctively know that you feel better when you allow your emotions to flow and feel the release they bring.  Because of this, those around you feel permission to show their emotions as well.

As a Emotional Type, You Are Really Good At:

Helping others feel safe, seen, and heard

Because you're comfortable with your emotions, your friends typically seek you out when in a tough place. People say they feel safe expressing their emotions to you without the fear of being judged.

Allowing your emotions to flow

You are a pro at knowing that it's important to allow yourself to fully feel whatever is coming up. You know that you feel better after you've had a good cry or a healthy scream!

Showing up in a vulnerable way

There's no doubt, you wear your heart on your sleeve ...and others love that about you! When connected to your heart, you are as real as they come. You are at your best when you are showing up vulnerably.

You Are a Multi-Dimensional Human Being!

You might lead with your EMOTIONAL self, however, there are a total of 5 components that make up all of you: Physical, Emotional, Mental, Spiritual and Relational. We call this the WHOLE self

You were taught in high demand religion that the only part of you worth anything was your spiritual (eternal) self. Everything else was temporary, deceptive, sinful, and needed to be guarded at all times lest you be deceived by the enemy. This damaging programming trained you to mistrust yourself and disconnect from all these amazing parts of yourself that have SO much wisdom to offer you!

We believe the path to wholeness is to connect with the resources that every part has for you. That means, when you know what your dominant Self Love Type is, you use the strengths of your type to usher in all of the other parts that don't feel as easy.

So, yes, you are GREAT at taking care of your Emotional Self, now you can find ways to nurture the Physical, Mental, Relational, and Spiritual parts of you as well, letting your emotions lead the way.

The way you can tap into the power of your emotions is unique!

Out of all the types, those who lead with the emotional self have the knowledge that their emotions are full of wisdom and magic. You've learned how to tap into their power but not being afraid to feel and there is no doubt how awe-inspiring it is for others. The more you foster this relationship between yourself and your emotions, the easier it will be for you to be connected to yourself. And not just emotionally but physically, mentally and spiritually, too! Once you learn how to connect ALL parts of yourself, there is no stopping you!

Emotional Types, You'll Want to Watch Out For:

Being SO tuned into your emotions is a gift, but your tendency can be to overly identify with your feelings and get lost in them.  Instead of saying “I AM sad, I AM overwhelmed” start saying, "I FEEL sad, I FEEL overwhelmed".  This will help you create a distinction between your feelings and your sense of self, reconnecting you to your spiritual core. You may also tend to undervalue the power of your intellect, not wanting to live in your head because that is somehow “less than.”  Using your thoughts to help you process your feelings will be crucial.

You've been taught in religion that certain emotions like fear, anxiety, or anger are to be avoided at all costs. So the next time you feel yourself immediately wanting to move away from a "bad" emotion, stop and ask it instead, "What are you trying to tell me?" We think you'll be shocked at the helpful information it has to share with you!

Self Care Tips for Emotional Types:

Express Yourself

Try using a creative outlet to verbalize how you feel (think poetry, music, art, etc). You might even want to create a playlist for different moods to help with emotional release!

The Heart Tap

This energetic exercise will help you release emotions.  Take 3 fingers and gently tap on your heart while breathing deeply.  With every out breath say, “It is safe to release this.”

Use Your Body

Partner with your body to move your emotions out of your system. Think of things like dancing, fast walking (while listening to music), or even singing a song outloud.

Journaling

Use journaling as a way to incorporate your mind into your expression of emotions. Ask questions like, "What is this emotion trying to tell me? What does it need me to know?"
