🎉You lead with your MENTAL self🎉
It is natural for you to be in tune with your inner daydreamer, as you really know how to access the power of your thoughts. You love to research and study, daydream, and imagine the future. Others lean on your wisdom, knowing that you can take a step back from a situation and really think about it from every angle. You are naturally able to think about how you feel, which helps you to manage your emotions that otherwise may feel out of control. You also understand that your self talk matters and because of that you are naturally attracted to mindfulness techniques, as you are always looking for ways to be more present and kinder to yourself.
As a Mental Type,You Are Really Good At:

Awareness around your thought life
You are incredibly aware of your self talk. You notice it and are always looking for ways to change the script. You're naturally attracted to Mindfulness techniques to help you live more in the present.

Being a sounding board for others
You're known by your friends for your sound judgement. Everyone comes to you when they want a solid perspective on a complicated issue, knowing you'll be able to think through every side of the issue.

Working out concepts, ideas, & dreams
No one is as good as you are at imagining the future, seeing what your plans and goals will look like before they even come to be. Others look to you because you are a visionary who can think through it all!
You Are a Multi-Dimensional Human Being!
Yes, you might lead with your MENTAL self, however, there are a total of 5 components that make up all of you: Physical, Emotional, Mental, Spiritual and Relational. We call this the WHOLE self.
You were taught in high demand religion that the only part of you worth anything was your spiritual (eternal) self. Everything else was temporary, deceptive, sinful, and needed to be guarded at all times lest you be deceived by the enemy. This damaging programming trained you to mistrust yourself and disconnect from all these amazing parts of yourself that have SO much wisdom to offer you!
We believe the path to wholeness is to connect with the resources that every part has for you. That means, when you know what your dominant Self Love Type is, you use the strengths of your type to usher in all of the other parts that don't feel as easy.

So, yes, you are GREAT at taking care of your Mental Self, now you can find ways to nurture the Physical, Emotional, Relational, and Spiritual parts of you as well, letting your mind lead the way.
Your potential to tap into the power of your thoughts is so unique!
Out of all the types, those who lead with the mental self understand that their thoughts are full of wisdom and magic. You've learned how to tap into that power and there is no doubt how awe-inspiring it is for others. The more you foster this relationship between yourself and your thoughts, the easier it will be for you to stay in utmost health. And not just mentally, but physically, emotionally, and spiritually, too! Once you learn how to connect ALL parts of yourself, there is no stopping you!

Mental Types, You'll Want to Watch Out For:

Despite how in tune you are with your thoughts, you also have the tendency to use them as a means to escape feeling. If not kept in check, your thoughts can run the show, not allowing for important input from your spirit and emotions. This is called becoming “dead from the neck down,” where you live solely from your head.
In religion you were taught to fear certain emotions like anxiety or anger because they were sinful and immature. But being emotional is not the opposite of being rational. It is crucial to listen to the input of your WHOLE self when making intelligent, healthy decisions. It will also be important for you to work WITH your thoughts vs fighting them. You don't have to "take your thoughts captive" anymore! Instead of labeling your thoughts as good vs bad, begin to imagine that they are trying to keep you safe. Getting curious about WHY you are thinking something instead of fighting the thought will gently open you up.
Self Care Tips for Mental Types:

Move Meditation
You will want to pair mindfulness practices with something active you enjoy like cooking, cleaning, gardening, walking, etc. This is the quickest way for mental types to connect their minds back to their hearts and bodies.

Close Your Eyes
Connect between your mind & heart. Before talking through how you “think” you are feeling, close your eyes. Place your hand over your head & heart, breathe deeply, and connect these 2 centers. This pause allows you to integrate.

Shifting Self Talk
When you are talking harshly to yourself, try asking in that moment, “What do I fear this ultimately says about me?” This question will move you into your emotions. You will be using your mind as an ally to get to the root of what is going on.

Feelings Journal
Create a ritual around exploring your feelings through journaling. Try lighting a candle, playing soft music, a chime, or whatever feels right for you as a means to invite new parts of yourself into the process.
